2018-20 EASTWARDS FROM PHUKET TO MADEIRA WITH S/Y VERITAS AND WESTWARDS 2019-21 TO ASIA ON A VOYAGE FROM BUDVA, MONTENEGRO TO PHUKET, THAILAND WITH S/Y MERMAID.

 

 

With S/Y Veritas Around Andaman Sea, India, Sri Lanka, Maldives on leg 6 and leg 7-11a eastwards through The Indonesian Sea, Sulawesi, Borneo, The Phillpine islands, Solomon and southeast to New Caledonia, then northeast through The Pacific to Hawaii, then west of Mid-Amerika to Southwest-Amerika then to Galapagos, Panama Canal, around Carribean to Madeira where the voyage ends approx July 2020. Write a book, your philosophies or poems. Produce a video or a picture collection. Be a painter, look at moons and stars in the night, sunrise and sunsets, dive, fish, visit many harbours and cities or be creative as you like - at the same time as we sail to and from Europe westwards/eastwards over the Atlantic Ocean to Carribean, Pacific Ocean towards Europe/Asia and finally to our destination.

 

The two journeys will take approx. 18 months (S/Y Mermaid) and 28 months (S/Y Veritas) The journey with S/Y Mermaid will start from Budva, Montenegro 1st. Of September 2019 and ends in Phuket in March 2021. The Journey with S/Y Veritas starts from Phuket 15th. Of March 2018 and ends in Madeira, Portugal July 2020. Before any journey starts the participants/crew will go through info and test sailings. The yacht will sail mainly by sails but can pursue by engine keeping the schedule.

 

The basic contribution as crew for the berth and the journey will be the amount of Danish Crowns DKr. 220,00 per. day per person. Furthermore your share of provisions (food, water) and supplies is approx. Danish Crowns. DKr. 1500-1800 (for food, fuel and beverages etc.)

 

Both of the vessel is 50 feet Bavaria cruiser with 10 berths 5 cabins, 3 bathrooms, large galley as well as cockpit on upper deck. 3 cabins are double berths and 2 cabin are with bunk berths. The Vessel is with modern security and navigation equipment (New Radar, plotters, VHF, GPS, AIS, Satellite telephone, Echo sounder, Auto-pilot, etc.). The vessels is very safe and automatic. The vessels has a large engine Volvo Penta engine and is in generel well equiped. Among security equipment there is a safety raft for 10-12 persons plus a rubber dinghy with an outbound engine, fire/gas/Co2 alarms, aut. fire extinguisher and Epirb. (see below for our basic equipment list).

It will be possible to make tours on land. During the journey it will be possible to visit smaller and larger harbours and islands and to take a hike around when its possible. It is not possible to predict accurate where we will go ashore and anchor, but it will be a part of the journey to harbours as often as it is possible. There will also be plentiful night sailings.

S/Y Mermaid voyage:

 

We are sailing from Budva the 1st. Of September 2019.

 

Leg 1: Start 1st. Of September 2019: S/Y Mermaid leaves from Budva in Montenegro and then south to Greece islands then through Mediterranean sea, visiting, Sicily, Malta, Sardinia, Corsica, Ibiza, Spain, Melille, Gilbraltar, North Africa, Ceuta, 2 months..

 

Leg 2: Start l-7th. Of November 2019: From Malaga out of Mediterranean Sea towards Cap Verde, Casablanca, Canary islands, West Africa and to Kap Verde Islands before crossing the Atlantic Ocean and crusing around Barbados, 2 months..

 

Leg 3: Start 7-14th. Of January 2020: Barbados, Bridgetown, around Caribbean, visiting Saint Vincent, Saint Lucia, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Antigua, St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. John, Dominican, Haiti, Cuba, Jamaica and then westwards towards Panama city. 3 months.

 

Leg 4: Start 25th. Of April 2020: Goes from Panama city or Shelter Bay, to Archipelago de las Perlas, Isle De Malpelo, Colombia, Ecuador, Galapagos to French Polynesia, Marquesas, Tahiti, 3,5 months.

 

Leg 4a: Start 15th. Of August 2020: Goes from Tahiti, French Polynesia and around there then to BoraBora, Cook, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Niue etc. and towards Caledonia, Australia. 3,5 months.

 

Leg 5: Start 1-7th. Of November 2020: New Caledonia, Great Barrier reef and up to Coral islands, Torres strait, Papua New Guinea, Celebes, Flores, Lombok, Bali, Java, Borneo, Sumatra, Malaka strait towards Thailand, Phuket arrival March 2021. 4 months.

 

 

S/Y Veritas voyage:

 

Leg 6: Start 15th. Of March 2018: Andaman Sea, Islands in Andaman, India, Sri Lanka and Maldives. 2 months.

 

Leg 7: Start 15-20th. Of May 2018: West Indonesien, The Indonesian Sea, to the Phillipines, Guinea, Solomon, Coral Sea, south wards - New Caledonia, Australia and Great Barriere reef, south to Fiji and back to New Caledonia, Noumea. 4 months.

 

Leg 8: Start around 25th. Of September 2018: Going northeast or just east from New Caledonia, Noumea towards Hawaii visiting Pacific islands: Northeast: Great Barriere, Coral Sea, Solomon, Micronesia, Marchall, and forward or East towards Fiji, Tonga, Niue, Palmerston, French Polynesia - all depending of weather etc. 5 months.

 

Leg 9: Starts 1st Of March 2019: Hawaii towards Galapagos, West Mid-America, Archipelago de las Perlas, Isle De Malpelo, Colombia, Equador, West Southamerica, Galapagos, then through Panama Canal to Belize and to Kingston, Jamaica etc. 4 months.

 

Leg 10: Starts 1-7th. Of July 2019: Around Carribean from north Carribean to South Carribean: Cuba, Haiti, St. Croix, St. John, St. Thomas, Antigua, Guardeloupe, Dominica, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent, Barbados, Grenada and more south and then back to Barbados, Bridgetown. 6 months. This leg can be divided into 10 and 10a each 3 months.

 

Leg 11: Starts 14-21th. Of January 2020 from Barbados, Bridgetown: North by the same route towards Domincan and Bahamas, Bermuda and then east over The Atlantic, towards Madeira. 6 months. This leg can be divided into 11 and 11a 3 months each.

 

All places to anchor will be decided finally during the voyage. All times are approx. around 1 week have been inserted between all legs for maintenance without crew payments, Crew only pays the mentioned leg duration.
